VOLODYMYR KARASHEVS’KYI 1955 born in Kyiv 1980 graduated from the theatrical-decorative department of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts (class of Danylo Lider) 1983 participated in the global “Quadrinale of Prague ‘83” exhibition 1983-87 set designer, Kyiv Institute of Culture Student Theatre 1987-88 head set designer, Kyiv Molodizhnyi Theatre 1988-90 head set designer, “Bud’mo” Theatre-Studio 22.9.1990 personal set-design exhibition in a bomb-shelter 1990-91 head set designer of the Kamernyi Theatre Studio 1996 on, artistic director of the Les’ Kurbas State Centre for Theatre Arts experimental laboratory Has worked as set designer at theatres in Ukraine, Kyiv, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. Awarded the “Kyivs’ka Pektoral’” in 1997, for best set design. “Reproductions” exhibition at the Nances Festival, France 2001. “Geometry” (Quadriptich) exhibition of kites, Kurbas Centre, Kyiv 21.3.2006. “Electric Air Theatre”, personal set-design exhibition, Kurbas Centre, 21.12.2006. Participation of plays worked on in international festivals in Ukraine, Austria, Armenis, Great Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Greece, Georgia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Columbia, Poland, Russia, the USA, France, and also at the 2nd annual Global Theatre Olympiad in Japan.
